Personally, I like the new AOL AntiVirusShield. Don't let the name AOL scare you. AntiVirusShield is made by Kaspersky which is one of top-rated anti-virus vendors in the world.
In recent tests, the most popular free anti-virus, AVG, was only able to detect about 82% of a very large sample of viruses. On the other hand, AntiVirusShield was able to detect better than 99% in the same test.

For avg pro the charge but not the free version. I've been using it for a long time and never been asked to pay for anything and it works great. You can check out other free ones at www.download.com, or just try to download one off limewire.

Goto free.grisoft.com. Get the latest version (7.5) of AVG Free. It auto scans and auto updates everyday at your preset time. It also has real time scanning. Thats all you really need in an anti-virus.

Get AOL Active Virus shield, it's a *FREE* Version of the excellent Kasperksy Lab. visit http://walkthroughwizard.info/ for a step by step guide how to remove any virus on your system. The website is great - it tells you step by step instructions on how to do it.

You looked at the wrong spot. Go "grisoft", and look for AVG-free. I never paid for it, but it is one of the best, but free!

Anti-virus programs are virii in themselves, just geared towards eliminating the competition.
In my opinion all you need is some computer knowledge and
