Well first, they are not symptoms, they are signs. Symptoms are for people who are sick, and you are not sick just because you are pregnant.

You are only half way there so you have a long ways to wait before you need to worry about going into labor.

You will know it when you go in labor. You will have contractions much stronger than braxton hicks contractions (false contractions getting you ready for the real ones-those wont start for a while either). Your water may also break and you could lose the mucus plug.

You might experiance back pain, especially lower back pain. You could also become sick to your stomache or get diahrea.

You are best to talk to your doctor about what you should do and at what stages of labor. Some doctors ask you to stay home until a particular point in labor.

Good luck, and try not to be so nervous.

Don't worry. If it is serious you will have contractions 3 minutes apart and a warm bath or catnip tea will not stop them. If it is not real labor those things will stop it. My water broke before anything happened, but that's just me it is different for everyone. In this case pain is a good thing embrace it as part of your life and your delivery will be wonderful. I gave birth at home naturally. This might not be for you but If I can do it (I am a baby) Then any one can. It is not so bad because you get a break from the pain inbetween contactions. Hope this helped.
