putting prices aside, let's say i get a 2 gb ram, 300 gb hard drive, and whatever graphic card you recommend to play games, it should be over a grand but not by much. in terms of which system is better to play games (first person shooter, fighting, etc) and which system has better games, should i get a new computer (my current one is very old and crappy, doesn't even play dvd), or a game console (xbox 360 would be my first choice)?

Console is good for a certain types of game (shooter, sport, fighting, racing, action game)and the computer is good for other types (Strategy,Casino,Simulation). Neither one has the advantage. I use both to play games. If your current pc doesn't have a dvd, maybe it's time for you get a new pc. If you decide to get a PC, do not get a system with built-in graphic card that use the Intel chip. Get either a Nvidia or ATI card, they are much better at games and graphics. For nvidia get a GeForce 7 series card because the Geforce series 8 may put you over budget. Same thing for ATI, get something that has similiar performance like the Geforce 7. A good PC years will cost you more than $1000 at least. On the other hand, console like the Xbox 360 or PS3 is cheaper and the graphic is amazing. Take your pick. You should have both a console and a pc to have a perfect gaming experience.

If you are looking at strictly gaming, I'd go with a console. With a pc, you have to worry about your system meeting the requirements, and as time passes, pc games will be raising the bar on the requirements, and you have to keep your pc on pace with the tech.

The other pain in the neck with the pc is all of the registry changes a pc game makes. Sometimes one game makes changes when it's installed, and if you try and put on another game as well, one if not both games might end up not working. That's why I'm going console myself and forgetting about pc games. That way my pc is just for internet, MS office, and my video editing and I don't have to worry about keeping hardware up to date.

For which console, just look at each systems' library of games and see which one has the most games that appeal to you.

i would get a computer because you can do more things on a computer than on a xbox 360. PC is like an Xbox it have the games and stuff. and a graphic card that i would recomed is a graphic card that is a 256 mg or higher but it depends on the game because i am using a 126 mg and it is 3 years old and it is works perfectly.

Yah it all depends what you're into. I prefer PC gaming, but I'm tempted to buy an Xbox 360 or Wii for another gaming experience.

I say go ATI (www.ati.com), make sure it's 2 video cards because it's definitely the way to go. for better framerates. The new games coming out are gonna be awesome, like crysis.

Make sure you have enough air flow so your computer doesn't melt.
