On super mario 64, how do i get the star for big boo's balcony?

I have beaten big boo and the star has appeared on top of the roof, but how do i actually get the star? I have tried climbing the roof, but it appears to be stoo steep. What do I do?

do a long jump either left or right, both sides have a slope with a flat area up top. You can land on the flat area but if you long jump toward the slope it should give you enough momentum to run up to a safe place. Now from here you have to long jump again toward the middle and run along the sloping roof to reach the flat area with the star on it
