Hello,

I recently purchased a 320GB External Hard Drive, and was wondering, if it will be damaged in ANY way if i keep it constantly on, but turn it off during the night.

Many thanks,

Lambros

The external HDDs is the same as the Internal HDD. The only thing you hae a casing for that. You can use them the same amount of time you use an internal drive.

The hardrive itself wouldn't be hurt. If you have an older USB port on your computer you might be able to wreck that if you left it on continually. Otherwise don't worry.

yes, you can keep it on without problems, but if you get a bug, it could travel to your external. i leave mine pluged in, but have an on/off switch for it. and when you use search or scans it will take longer.
