This is a good question. You want to be able to find stuff in a big record store, or on-line site like amazon. I agree satire is satire, and it is SATIRICAL. But I've never seen a satire category or any other sub-genre. It is usually listed under COMEDY. All comedy is not satire, however. If you like satire, look for the artist Tom Lehrer. Amazon and other places (Barnes and Nobles, e.g.) let you select "other albums like this" or something that will give you similar selections. You may have to look in the MISCELLANEOUS category first, then select COMEDY!

It is all Comedy. That is where you find it in music stores.

There are a few different types:
1. parody, where the words are changed and the music remains the same. The current master of this is Weird Al, earlier versions include Homer & Jethro
2. original words and music. Tom Lehrer is probably best known, although the English duo, Flanders and Swan, were very good in the 1960s. Some of the old folk artists would put out occasional songs (Harry Belafonte, Hole in the Bucket). Current artists include the Australian trio, Tripod.
3. Nonsense, kids stuff. The most famous was probably Alvin & the Chipmunks, also Sheb Wooley (Purple People Eater). A lot of Spike Milligan's stuff would fall into this category. A lot rely on tricks like speeding up the tape.
4. Keep the lyric, change the musical genre. The most notable was a CD called Stairways to Heaven that featured 20 different versions of the Zeppelin classic, including opera, country, Rolf Harris, in the style of Kate Bush etc. There are versions of modern songs done in the style of the old crooners, standards done as heavy metal etc.

Please note this is just one way that I might divide up comedy songs. It is not meant to be definitive.

You're making it way too hard! Satire is satire...be it written word, spoken word, or music! There is no "sub genre" - comedy music is just music - period! Ask Weird Al...he knows better than anyone else! He satirizes songs as his form of comedic expression - simple! (Just that he is EXCEPTIONALLY good at it!!!)
