In "Nineteen Eighty-Four", Winston I think is victimized by the way he communicates with others since he's been watched by 'BIG BROTHER' everywhere he goes in such a totalitarian or neo-communist regime. In other words, such a regime needs absolute system of governing its people without any ideological ideas/thoughts of their own, they may talk back or speak out for viable reasons and feasible politics in the name of democracy. Orwell'd like to portray his literary narratives and robot-like characters for his readers to see, imagine and understand how such a ruled regime should have inhuman effects from pure dictatorship. As for me, whenever I read this novel, I will not live or work in such the society at all; it's horror everywhere because of one thing (among others), that is, the accusing slogan, "BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU'.
