I'm looking for songs about being rejected, refused, left/abandoned, not being recognized, not being acknowledged, not being taken seriously, etc. I know "Am I Not Pretty Enough," "Unappreciated," "Underappreciated," "Uninvited," "You Oughta Know," "Something You Should've Said" and "Did I Shave My Legs For This," but what else is out there?

Alone Again (Naturally)

Verse:

In a little while from now,
If I'm not feeling any less sour.
I promised myself, to treat myself,
And visit a nearby tower ..........
And climbing to the top,
Would throw myself off,
In an effort to, make clear to whoever,
What it's like when your shattered .......
Left standing in a lurch,
In a church with people saying .....
My God, that's tough, she stood him up,
No point in us remaining .......
I may as well go home,
As I did on my own,
Alone again, naturally.

Don't Speak by No Doubt would probably fit somewhere in this category, since it's about when Gwen Stefani's boyfriend at the time, Tony Kanal, her bassist. He didn't want to be her boyfriend,
after being with her for seven years, so that would fit the bill of being
rejected.

My personal favorite is Cyndi Lauper's "Change of Heart". It's a great fit if you get the "You are just a friend" treatment.

Queen did
I want to Break Free and Spread Your Wings

I want to break free
I want to break free
I want to break free from your lies
You're so self satisfied I don't need you
I've got to break free
God knows, God knows I want to break free

I've fallen in love
I've fallen in love for the first time
And this time I know it's for real
I've fallen in love, yeah
God knows, God knows I've fallen in love

It's strange but it's true
Hey, I can't get over the way you love me like you do
But I have to be sure
When I walk out that door
Oh how I want to be free, baby
Oh how I want to be free
Oh how I want to break free

But life still goes on
I can't get used to living without, living without
Living without you by my side
I don't want to live alone, hey
God knows, got to make it on my own
So baby can't you see
I've got to break free

I've got to break free
I want to break free, yeah
I want, I want, I want, I want to break free
Ooh yeah
I want to break - yeah eah
