my friend's bestfriend who she trusted very much just admitted that she liked that friends exboyfriend, who she still REALLY likes. and earlier in the year they had made a promise never to like or go out with eachothers exs. and now my friend is really upset about it. do you think a friend should ever do that to another friend??

Morally, no but in certain matters, the heart has to make a decision. If the feelings are true for the friend's friend's ex than the friend should be supportive instead of upset.

Down south we call it sloppy seconds... you don't go out with your friends Xs... especially if it has been a recent one... I think if maybe a few years had went by and you checked with your friend to be sure before you acted on it and made sure your friend was OK with it..... then ......maybe
