Two weeks isn't long enough for your uterus to fully heal. That's why they tell you 4 to 6 weeks. You can play around, but no intercourse.

Are you breastfeeding? If so, make sure you wash your nipples if hubby has been playing with them, before feeding the baby.

Best Wishes,

Sue

Normally, with a vaginal birth it is SAFE to have sex once all bleeding has stopped. This is a sign that the uterine lining and site of placental implantation has healed. Whether you would feel discomfort is another matter. However, with a cesarean you have an incision in the lower uterine segment which has to heal, and it needs to heal completely and thoroughly. "Banging" on the cervix during sexual intercourse might cause trauma to an incompletely healed incision, weakening the sutures or even causing the incision to open. While this is not very likely, it is possible. You also don't want to introduce any bacteria etc. up into the cervix/uterus which might cause an infection. These are all situations which could impact future childbearing. You need to wait at least 2 more weeks just to allow the cesarean scar to heal.

Be aware that vaginal lubrication is usually lacking following childbirth, especially if you are breastfeeding. This can cause discomfort and irritation to the vaginal tissues.

Your supposed to wait 6-8 weeks after your c-section. However, I couldn't wait that long either. My husband and I had sex 4 weeks after my c-section. Take it slow!!! It is uncomfortable, and you should let your husband do all the work, because your abdominal muscle was cut open to get your baby out. If you feel sharp pains in your abdominal muscles do not continue with intercourse and wait a couple more weeks. Although you maybe feeling better and in the mood...you just had a major surgery so take it slow.

Did you do any kind of vaginal pushing? If so I would say wait another week or so because I pushed for 5 hours before having to have a c-section and i felt fine two-three weeks afterwards and attempted sex and my lord did it hurt it was not at all enjoyable it felt like I was a virgin all over again and it just felt like the member was not going to fit inside therefore making me want to stop and wait a bit but give it a go if you think you are up to it just be careful and watch how you pull your tummy though it has been two weeks you can still cause trauma to your incision site so be careful

I was the same way as you. I broke down and had sex just 2 weeks afterwards. Luckily I didn't get pregnant again, only the pull out method was used. I thought I was ready and able to then, but after that I began gushing blood and didn't stop bleeding for 3 months. They had to give me methergen to make my uterus contract back down to size so I would stop bleeding. i wouldn't do it, but if you can't wait, then you might have to deal with the consequences.

Do not have sexual intercourse for another 4 weeks. Providers usually tell patients no intercourse until their 6 week check up. Even though you had a cesearean, this should hold true for you too. You had a major surgical procedure after pregnancy and there are associated risks with intercourse. Plus if you happen to get pregnant, there are inherent risks with having a child right after the other (inability of uterus to heal).

You should wait 6 weeks or at least until your postnatal checkup and the doctor gives the okay. No matter if you had a vaginal birth or a c-section your uterus needs time to heal and is prone to infection and yes semen can cause infection. You should wait until your follow-up appt. before having sex or ask your doctor if you can't wait.

You are not supposed to have sex, use a tampon, or put anything else 'up there' until after your dr. appointment. It should be at 4 or 6 weeks. And definately don't forget the birth control!
