I have a love for history, but I really like to go back and study several people and the periods in which they lived.
I am asking (though due to improbablity I may not but,) if possible can someone like me (who desires to see the past and record it for the sake of humanity and future generations) have the right and will to ask for such a thing like time travel?
Or am I selfish to ask?...
Perhaps too stupid for science fiction nonsense... *sigh*

We don't know what would happen if someone ever actually achieved backward time travel. Perhaps they would disappear from our world forever and no one would notice, or perhaps we would be the ones disappearing because of changes in the chain of cause and effect.

It is not selfish or stupid. There are people, though I can't list names, that could maybe be influenced by someone with extensive knowledge of our time. It could be a very good thing - just have to make sure we were to make the right decisions so as not to destroy the good works of the world.

Consider for a moment what is going on in the world today. Muslim against Jew against Christian against Hindu, etc.
So if you could definitively go back and bring back the truth and not the myth, in the short term I suspect violence would continue;but in the long run, the truth may will out, and people will see that we are not all that different.

I would love to be able to get in a time machine and go back and actually "see" certain people, and places, and events. We would just need to be SO careful to not interact in any way, shape, or form with anything or anyone. Who know what kind of catastrophe we could cause?
