Is he good with the x's and o's or is he just a wise judge of talent and a player's coach?

He really is a good coach. Being a judge of talent, and surrounding yourself with good coaches and delegating responsibility is the mark of good coach. I do think he's a player's coach, which is not always a good thing, but he always seems to get the most out of his players, well, except for this year. As for as an X's and O's guy, he is not an innovator, like Bill Walsh was, but he certainly knows about a power running game and tough defense. He knows the basics and his teams normally don't make a lot of mistakes. I think the Steelers will really hit a rough stretch if he leaves.

he is a great talent judge, and can surround himself with good coaches, although i would like to see him make some more good coaches. Cowher is also a good Motivator. he's not the best coach with the X's and O's, but he runs a very conservitive offense, and everyone knows that, and that NO one expects a WR to make a pass..

any coach that will win you a superbowl is a good coach in my book...this year just aint his year with the steelers...his mindset revolves around defense first and he can motivate as well as any coach in the league. should be a hall of fame coach.
