I'm doing an art project dealing with nintendo characters. What I'm doing is heroes and their steeds. You know like Mario and Yoshi, Link and Epona. What other nintendo characters had steeds?

how about bowser in his smiling half circle cariage from the boss fight in super mario world. you could do ash from pokemon riding a pokemon of your choice. you could do olomar from pikmin riding (being carried) by the pikmin in pikmin. donkey kong on the rhino, frog, ostrich, or swordfish. Megaman on his robotic dog. battletoads riding the snakes from NES. Little nemo from NES riding a lizard or the gorilla. obviously these last ones while still nintendo characters per say are straying a little from the classics.

Final Fantasy characters ride chocobos. I think they first appeared in Final Fantasy 2 on the NES for Japan.

Good question! You may be able to get away with Samus and her ship or Star Fox and his fleet...but that's doubtful.
You might try Midna and Link, but I can't think of any other character/animal pairings...A Boy and his Blob is about it.

Actually that is pretty much it I think, unless you are counting the vehicles that some of the characters ride in.

He is not a hero, but Ganondorf is often seen on a black horse. You could do Kirby on his tire.
