It happens all the time. You have artists of paint out there learning new brush techniques and color mixtures. You have music artists, the guitar gurus; singers; drummers; music directors for movies: all of them are learning something different for bettering themselves. It will allow them to create something that people grasp onto as they gain the knowledge that they seek when it comes as a new idea to them, and in fact is the reason that I agree with you and say that the imagination CAN be exercised every day. Being creative never hurt anyone.

I believe everyone exercises their imagination every day, considering we're all in a 'thinking mode' at pretty much 98% of our consciousness (awake, alert).
I like to try different things every day, and the job I do, enables me to use my 'creative, imaginitive' side of me that fulfills my job requirements (desktop publishing, logos, drawings, painting, graphics, etc).
I enjoy watching movies that have a lot of action and movement. This allows me to use my imagination freely. It's like that "Blair Witch Project". You never see the "Witch", but if you use your imagination hard enough, you can pretty much scare the bejesus out of yourself!!!
Even reading a book makes you use your imagination to the extreme.
Watching television, like the media, or the news, your imagination goes to extremes too. You allow yourself to do the "what if's" and you tend to let your mind wander from where you are, at present, to somewhere else, playing out something you only heard of, or seen, on the news, or a T.V. show.
It's very flexible, on how you use your imagination.

My imagination is always on overdrive, usually not with material that could be rated PG, but it's exercise none the less.

I'm the queen of imagination. LOL, seriously though- I study every single day and I cannot imagine any other way of expression- it embodies me.

Yes - this is what I do...

I imagine what the body and lags of the avatar asking the question look like.

Or in Blue Faerie's case the body and head.

Every time my boss and her dingbat partner walk by, I imagine their stupidity being put on display for our clients and peers. My favorite moment would be when people find out they thought our Internet connection was slow because it was warm outside.

I do all my best planning in my imagination. If I can imagine it I am one step closer to making it happen.
