We do need a military to protect others from genocidal wars. Our health care is free, but we pay taxes to keep it that way. Canadians, are less willing to start a fight, like Americans do. They don't feel that carrying a gun is part of their national identity. They believe that Consumerism isn't everything in life. They try to help the little people. In a sense Canada is everything that the United States isn't.
