Showering and washing your face should not be a problem, but I would keep eyes closed doing both. You don't want to get soap or shampoo in yours eyes while wearing contacts. That can be messy and uncomfortable.

I would NOT suggest swimming, expecially if you plan to open your eyes underwater. Besides chlorine burn, you could easily lose your contacts as the water can make them more likely to pop out. I wore contacts for years and almost lost one while swimming, so I speak from experience.

Here's a link to a general Contact Lens FAQ.

If they are soft lenses, you can. Some even sleep with their lenses on-not advisable though for long periods or if you have dry eyes. You just have to keep in mind always that you have contacts on so that you don't do anything which may cause them to be removed from your eyes. If you must swim, use goggles. Be extra careful when you open your eyes in the water. I've done all the things you asked when I was still wearing contacts. Also, always use new solution to avoid infection. Never, never reuse your solutions.

Depends. The only think you're risking is that the water will wash your contacts out of your eyes. If you're careful (IE, close your eyes when you go underwater or when you splash water on your face), it won't happen. I've worn my contacts in the pool and in the shower no problem.
However, I have disposable contacts that last for one month, and then you throw them out and replace them so I wasn't too worried about losing them. If you have permanent contacts that might be expensive to replace, it might not be worth the risk for you.

you can shower and wash your face with your contacts on, but I find that when I swim with them on my eyes seem to burn, aggitate and turn red very quickly.
