Cut a lemon in half and rub it with the lemon halves. The citric acid will clean the grime off and the "meat" and rind of the lemon is a mild abrasive.

Well first get the oil ans soot off it. Use simple green, or Krudd Kutter, then the Brasso

take a magnet and if it sticks,buy another front.if the magnet does not stick then clean it with a brass polish.
