I come to Yahoo Answers. My 16-year-old daughter comes to Yahoo Answers.

It offends me when people show their bare buttocks or appear almost totally naked here. I don't like it. My 16-year-old daughter doesn't like it.

And before you say, the human body is a beautiful thing; I agree. It's the lack of respect that gets to me. Why am I being forced to see you naked in order to use this website? If you want people to see you naked, you could put up a website address where they can go, so why must I have to look at it if I don't want to? It's not like a have a choice; you can't see what is in a picture until you look at it.

I'm asking on behalf of myself, my daughter, and many others, I'm sure. Please respect us, and keep your clothes on in your pictures.

Please and thank you?

Well, I guess when you post a question, and you don't actually pick the category, it automatically puts it in the one you were last in. I posted this after seeing a picture in this section where a guy had nothing but a sock on (if you know what I mean), and another posted on the same question with a ribbon over his upper thigh and genital area (other than that uncovered).

I just asked them to please stop; thinking maybe they might respond if they understood that young people were coming here. Wishful thinking, I know, but I thought I'd give give it a shot, and maybe one or two might rethink it.

Thanks to everyone who answered.

Welcome to the Internet. What you have discovered are Trolls.

Any place on the Internet that allows users to upload information and has enough users will attract trolls.

If the site is unsuccessful in running them off, then the trolls will remain so long as it is entertaining for them. Given the size of Yahoo, you're basically stuck with them. Eventually they'll start linking to ******(Picture of a man stretching something that most people don't want to see stretched), tubgirl(very gross, involing a girl in a tub), and other such things.

I recommend against having your daughter wander such places on the Internet alone, if you wish to protect her from such things. Beyond that, you may want to explain to her about such people and why they post such things. There is a Penny Arcade strip abou it, but I shall not link to it from here for fear of the fact it contains a profane word starting with 'S'.

There are some honorable trolling groups, like GNAA, but you're not likely to find such groups on Yahoo. Yahoo mostly attracts individuals.

Best of luck on your travels.

I personally am more offended by some of the language and lack of respect for others that I see, more so than someone's bare behind. Why on earth would you post this in the gay/lesbian/transgendered section? Why not under yahoo questions? Do you figure that all the perverts hang out here? It's not true, most of these people want to discuss serious issues. Please, show a little more respect for people's feelings, and post in the correct catagory. If your daughter is not old enough to handle seeing pics, I'm sure she's not old enough for most of the questions, perhaps you might want to think about restricting her internet use to children's sites. Good luck to you.

Number one-I've been a member over a month now and I've NEVER, not ONCE, seen any avatars with naked people, so I have no idea what you're talking about.

number 2- You don't like what you see, then DON'T COME TO THE SITE AND DON'T ALLOW YOUR DAUGHTER TO COME

and number 3- Leave the rule enforcement up to Yahoo! Answers. If you have a problem with something, report it.

under no circumstances. i admire the texture of being alive and loose. exceedingly in the water. Puritanical and consumerist cultures have all yet robbed human beings of this. i do no longer p.c. to would desire to stay in an African tribe or an Amazonian Indian community to be freed from the 'shame' of my physique. As a subculture we are unwell. This is going for Islam and 'the West'. we've been taught to concurrently hate and sexualize our bodies. and females's bodies maximum of all have become a economic commodity which has only perpetuated the cultural ailment. I grew up in Europe, and holiday journeys in France the place complete households being bare on the sea coast grow to be a typical element. learn that to honour killings, rape, genital mutilation, plastic t*ts and faces, and simultaneous obsessions with pornography and 'shame'... What a peculiar and wonderful mix of puritanical female-hating center-jap religions and US-form consumerism has further us to a place the place a female feeding her newborn is a 'ask your self.' So in answer on your question: i might p.c. to have the skill to positioned on despite the climate or my temper required. this isn't any one else's enterprise.

OMG, you saw a bare butt and lived to tell? Stay off the computer and don't watch TV. If "bare buttocks" offends you I can't imagine how you would react to all the violence, atrocities, hatred and injustices that are going on in the world. I'm offended that you posted this in the LGBT category. What are you implying?

You do know that "adult content" is against Yahoo's policies for this site, so it shouldn't be happening anyways. If it is appearing on here, it needs to be reported. Oh, and common sense should also be used. This section of the site if for people to discuss their sexuality and gender identity and relating topics. Of course sexual content is going to appear here. It's like asking the people in the transportation area to stop talking about trains. As for covering ourselves up, what is covered and isn't covered isn't up to you. It's up to Yahoo! to come up with their own policies and enforce them as they choose. If you have a problem with how adult content is allowed sometimes, then it needs to be taken up with Yahoo!. If they refuse to do anything about it, then I guess this site is just a little too "mature" for your sixteen y/o daughter's eyes. Just my opinion on the subject as a former unofficial moderator for an online forum.

If the Picture goes against the Community Guidelines you can report it.
While I can understand your "issue" I do not agree. These "communities" are for everyone. if something violates the guidelines report it and It will be removed but I don't see any reason that pictures that do not violate the guidelines should need to be removed simply because they make you feel uncomfortable.
It's your choice to come here or not.

To weirdo:

The people who do post pornographic pictures here are a small minority, we are constantly complaining to yahoo but they do not listen to us. If you have a problem take it up with them and not us.

Your daughter is 16 i'm sure she has seen a naked female before (i really hope) and i'm sure she will if she hasn't already seen a naked male.
Stop babying her, this is the internet. If she or you have a problem i suggest she stay away from this website.

I do not endorse these images and have complained several times but your post just frustrates me. If she does not like it, simple complain to yahoo and stop coming its that simple, theres a thing called sunshine that maybe your daughter could put to better use.

Stop acting like the human body is offensive, it isn't. Take your complaints to yahoo not us. Thanks and goodbye.

I agree. THe human body is a beautiful thing, but on here they give you no choice about whether you see it or not. You can't come to Y!A without noticing and seeing ppl's avatars.
