Hi there...here's a large list of animal species (scientific names) that begins with a 'Z' and doesn't have an 'R' in the name:

The only animals I can think of that begin with the letter Z is the Zebra (and other animals with the word "Zebra" in them.) I hope you find an answer to this question. It's a good one!
