There are no taxi's or buses where I live. The population is 900, everything is within walking distance.

I went for a cab ride once in my life, cant remember if it was yellow, in TJ...Mexico...We went there to steal a car, that was stolen from my brother in law...I thought we were going to die, it was like that bumper car ride at the amusement park , only with cussing and fingers in the air....We did steal the car and made it to the border and were promptly arrested...kidding
They could not believe we found it, fought off two pit bulls and one Mexican dude with a gun and beat the Mexican police to the border....I will never do that again....Nor go back to Mexico

Sure. I'm in chicago and our yellow cabs are OK. There are smaller cab companies with drivers that'll drive you around to increase their fare. The bigger companies have some standards, so their drivers are better.
Want to enrage any driver? Print out two copies of mapquest driving directions, one for you and one for him.
