My15-year-old daughter had to go live with her father last year because I couldn't care for her anymore. She is disrespectful, mean, hateful, and I firmly believe she needs serious medical attention.

Her father always thought I was BSing about how bad it was but now, after a year, he wants to send her back. She assaulted him and he called the police on her. She is living with their church priest until we figure something out.

She cannot come back to live with me. I have 2 other kids and I can't have the turmoil that she brings. How can I have her placed in foster care or terminate my parental rights and have her permantely taken away.

Please, don't tell me that she needs help and love... I have been dealing with this for years and I can't do it anymore. Unless you've lived one day in my shoes you can't comment on how best to help her. She needs help I can't give her.

I feel for you. I have a 15 year old boy who is out of control. He puts holes in the walls. Swears and yells at me horriblely and he treats even the police like ****. He has no respect for anyone. I have tried so hard to help him. I have done all the parenting programs. Been linked with youth groups. Sent him on camps and nothing is working. Even counsellors don't help. I'm at wit ends myself. I don't have any support from his father at all.

Contact Child Protective Services in your area. They will guide you to the help your daughter needs.

oh you poor thing. dont feel bad, i have a friend whom is going through the same exact thing with her son, and her ex (whom also didnt believe her 'stories' about him). its a dam nightmare, to say the least.

a lawyer will be able to tell you exactly what to do, and file the papers for you. if you cant afford one, every single state has legal aid offices in all countys. contact your local "legal aid" office.

if you cant find it, ask any lawyer, they ALL know where the offices are, and most even have the phone number.

hang in there, you did all that you could for her so you have to keep telling yourself that, in order to keep your sanity. file the necessary papers, and do what you must.

how she handles the rest of her life, is her choice. and remember, you are NEVER to blame yourself for any choices she makes.

Both you and her father need to emancipate her, but good luck getting a judge who will allow you both to do it without someone in your family willing to step up to care for her.

Check out emancipation and what it is at http://www.findlaw.com for free.
