very tender. actually, this was the first sign for me to understand that i was pregnant. for my first pregnancy, they swell in size, but for the next, not much. but the breast tenderness was always there. it hurt if brushed accidently also.

As your pregnancy wears on, your breasts will become a lot more tender, and as they fill with colostrum (the pre-milk creamy substance that babies will eat their first day or two on Earth) they will begin to be quite sore.
As mother's milk begins to 'come in' -- that is, milk replaces the colustrum in amounts big enough for growing babies to have adequate amounts to eat nutritiously,--the breasts will become engorged with milk and become quite painful until the milk is expressed out either by sucking from the baby, or by using a breast pump for storage of milk to be given later.
The tenderness will subside later, at approximately 3-4 weeks, depending on how the mother conditions them and how much the baby suckles them. The more sucking action, the tougher they will be.

My breasts don't feel any different and I am 26 weeks, they are just bigger. They were never sore or tender but I hear a lot of women say they hurt.

Honestly....They hurt A LOT. They are extreamly tender and sore and I personally cried a lot from the pain, NOT saying that it's the same way for everyone but at least it's that way for me.

I don't have breasts but my girlfriend is pregnant and from what I can tell they hurt, she says they're tender and they are bigger and I can vouch for that...I get in trouble when I touch them :(

Very tender. When the glands are conditioning, you get a shooting pain sensation, is the best way I can explain it. They will swell and become fuller.
