2x - 9y = 1
5x + 6y = 12

Multiply 2 to the first equation and 3 to the second.
4x - 18y = 2
15x + 18y = 36

Add the 2
19x = 38

Divide
x = 2

Substitute this to ANY of the equations, and you will solve for y
y = 1/3

Therefore, the solution to the system is x = 2, y = 1/3, or, by using the point-form, (2,1/3)

2x - 9y = 1 => 2x = 1 + 9y => x = (1+9y)/2

5x + 6y = 12 => 5((1+9y)/2) +6y = 12 =>

5/2 + 45y/2 +6y = 12 => 57y/2 + 5/2 = 12 =>

57y/2 = 19/2 y = (19*2)/(2*57) ==> y = 1/3

x = (1 + 9y)/2 => x = 1/2 + 3/2 => x = 2

x = 2; y = 1/3
