I think yes - the rise of a middle class will doom it.
Interestingly, this seems to point toward the ideal way to deal with hostile governments. We traded with China, and they are now capitalists. We isolated Cuba, and it hasn't changed a bit. We invaded Iraq, and...
Anyway, I think this just points to the transformative power of trade.

Communism is china is over. I was just there 2 months ago. It's a very capitalist country. However, the communist party is very well and alive. Politically, they have a one-party system and a very centralized government where all the decisions are made at the top and decisions are supposed to trickle down. However at the local level, the central government has very little control over every day life. There is very little oversight of the policies the central government mandates so not too many people pay attention to them. Corrupt local officials are very common and they use their power to sell out their office to the highest bidder.

I just saw a show on one of the discovery channels the other night about (you know they limit people to 1 kid) well this was about limiting people to 1 dog and it has to be a small one ! It was about a woman that had 2 big dogs for like 10 years and the was s`poes to give them up to the government to be killed but was hiding the in her house and only taking them out at night very little. If they can tell you how many kids you can have and how many dogs I think *YES* they are communists. But they have over population and a bad problem with to many stray dogs and rabies so they have to do what they are doing or imagine what it would be like ?

They are smart. They saw the chaos russia experienced by suddenly dropping communism. They Know cummunism can't survive because there are too few communist countries for them to trade with and allie with, but there won't ever be a point in time you can point to and say thats where communism in china ended because they're changing slowly and gradually.

No, there are still a few hardliners left Although old and grumpy
like all men, they are still highly respected after all they are
the forefathers of the nation and their wishes cannot be contradicted. They think that China' s present prosperity are
the results of communism so who's to tell them otherwise.

not even close!
they are attempting to appear as a democracy like Russia, to stifle all their riots and protests, but in reality, communist ideology will continue to run their government, and control their economy, it would be complete ignorance to believe otherwise.
