NO! The reason is because all they are given to talk about is the player's family, or how good his weekend was, or how much he ate and other irrelevant things like that. AND at the end, they always go up to the winning team and are like "you won, are you happy?" Seriously...? It's really annoying. If they were allowed to be real announcers and talk about the team's strategies, the score, the team's performance thus far, then sure what does it matter. However, since they are given unnecessary topics to fill up time with because I am sure the powers that be believe that's all female announcers can handle, then no. We don't need nor want them. I enjoy my baseball games slightly more without female interviewers.

I thought I was the only one who felt that way.

That is such a stupid, sexist question.

No, we don't *need* women interviewers. But do we really need male interviewers? Why not only only women? Why not get a women up in the box instead of down on the field? There's no reason why women can't be interviewer at a "male predominant sports program."

Here's the real question: DO WE REALLY NEED FRANK GIFFORD COMMENTING ON NBA GAMES?

He knows nothing about basketball, and was horrible, yet we still had him! Really, Cheryl Miller wouldn't be better?

NO, but since the woman's movement it's not going to be something that will change where women are not allowed to interview male athletes in NHL, NFL, MLB, etc. I'd say keep women out, but more for their own protection, but as long as they are in it, I would encourage them to concentrate on the game and the feild instead of off the feild issues, and keep them OUT of the locker rooms!!

The parity-minded, let's sell some jersey's types feel that women need the female interviewers. That way, they can attract more female viewers. Notice I didn't say fans. Nothing against women, the point here is that in today's sports world, the traditional fan is being phased out in favor of the attendee who needs to be entertained.

Women who want to interview men in the locker room are well aware of what to expect. They should not get away with playing the blushing, offended little woman. They have NO right to be in there at all if they are going to "act" offended.
Do men insist on interviewing women basketball players in the locker room? They'd probably be considered voyeurs.

Why does it matter either way? As long as the person interviewing knows what they are talking about, what does their sex matter? I am a female who likes most guy sports and it's nice seeing a woman on the sidelines every once in a while. It lets us football loving girls know we're not alone ;)

We don't need sideline reporters giving up dates throughout. Sure it is nice to get a word from the coach at half but I could live with out it. When a sideline reporter gives us an update it comes from a press release sent to the TV truck. Plus, most aren't hot and if they are they suck at reporting. Que, Lisa Guerrero.

Yes, we do, it seems like players open up and have better attitudes when talking to a nice looking female reporter as apposed to a guy.

Hey, I would.

Who cares. If they know what they are talking about and stick to the points of the game no matter if its before, during, or after the game then whats the big deal?
