I want to get her a special symbolic gift, not just a generic diamond or gold necklace. I remember a ring a few years a go of a snake, consuming its tail, symbolizing continuuity, but I cant remember the name. If you know any piece of jewelry (necklaces, bracelets, rings) that have a symbolic meaning, please tell me the name and point me in the direction, thanks.

I can point you in the right direction. Ask her to marry you. You've been with her for 3 years and gone through so much with her and you want a ring to symbolyze continuity? HELLO??!! Don't be afraid. An engagement can go on for a bit if you are afraid to set a date. You love her with all of your heart and she loves you. You've been through a lot and I'm sure this will not be the end of that. We are on earth for crying out loud! This is a living hell. I have seen that ring of the snake that you are talking about. It sometimes has gem eyes. They have them in some malls in shops that carry whimsical items like wicca items for witches. You also may find them in some small corner stores or look online under whimsical items or wicca craft items. I hope I helped in some way.

You should get her a charm bracelet so she can add meaningful things. If you buy her one, start it out with a charm that means or symbolizes something to both of you. Or, you should get her a claddagh ring which is a design of two hands clasping a crowned heart. This ring originated in Ireland and if the heart is pointed inwards toward the person, it means they are in a relationship and if it is pointed outwards they are single.

tiffany's has a similar idea.. it has a circular silver pendant that is kind of thick, supposed to represent continuity as well. try tiffany's...they have nice necklace/pendants that are silver and around $60-$150. but it is the elsa peretti line, and the one that is the "cheapie" side. tiffany's has one room for extremely expensive stuff, and then another room for cheaper stuff.

the famous ones are the sideways heart, which also has a cute matching bracelet, ring, and earrings

the bean, which is a silver bean looking pendant. really cute, i have that one

teardrop, i have this one too.

starfish

good luck :)

i would get her something that comes from your heart...and if its a bracelet or a ring i would get in engraved with a sweet and special note that will make the piece of jewelry even more special.

What about that Irish ring with the heart and hands holding the heart. You wear it a certain way when you are taken.

search for "dragon ring" and try to find something that you both did together to make it symbolic, and then match it to a piece of jewlery, but yes i think a ring would do just fine.

Talk to her best friend or shop with her. Nobody knows her tastes better.
