Definately easier... When I was in HS, everyone knew who smoked (weed) and who had it. Finding someone to buy cigarettes for you was harder. Now they also have so many laws and better enforcement on selling cigarettes to minors, I still get carded all the time at 24.

Although, it was even harder to get alcohol than cigarettes, if that makes any difference to you.

Yes. All of US Government surveys on the subject show that kids consistently report that it is easier to get illegal drugs than the legal ones.

This is the same thing that happened during alcohol prohibition. Alcohol prohibition was passed with a campaign of "Save the Children from Alcohol." Within five years, the US was in the midst of the biggest teen drinking epidemic ever seen. Schools had to cancel dances because so many kids showed up drunk. Kids became involved in the bootlegging trade. Some of the early supporters of prohibition turned against it because prohibition made it easier than ever for their kids to get alcohol.

Alcohol prohibition was eventually repealed with a campaign of "Save the Children from Prohibition." You can find some interesting references on the subject at http://druglibrary.org/prohibitionresults.htm There are a number of personal stories there.

When I was a minor we didn't buy cigarettes. We occupied the clerk whilst another of us filched a display pack off the counter.
Eventually got busted by the old "guy spying from the freezer" trick. Crime and smoking do not pay.

There are a million stories in the City, this was just one of them.

Yes, people who sell drugs do not ask for ID, so age does not matter. I know many people from the age of 13 to ? that have boughten marijuana. So, I definitely feel that it is easier to buy drugs than Tobacco now a days.

Logic would say, yes. You're dealing with two different market structures with your question. Effectively the 'legal' market and the 'black' market.

I believe it probably is because since pot is already illegal nobody is gonna ask you if you are of age before they sell it to you.
