Making love is special, and unique to each person, so it's really up to you, the individual. There's no time limit on how long it takes to love a person, or how long you should wait to exert an act of love.
My advice... go with your heart. Making love with someone you love is the most beautiful thing any two people can do... just make sure you use protection, unless you both vounterr to get a blood test together. And still, contraception is the way to go.
