when resetting the router make sure you HOLD that damn reset button for like 2 minutes straight. it doesn't want to reset easily.
should be able to use "admin" to get in after you do a reset.

RE:
192.168.1.1 password?
I just purchased a brand new Linksys wireless broadband router (model no. WRT54G) version 6 and I cannot connect to 192.168.1.1 in my internet browser.
The password "admin" does not work. I tried resetting router but now I feel that I made mistake when doing this. How can I fix this...

If you reset the router back to the factory settings, then you should be able to log in by leaving the username blank with a password of "admin" ( no quotes) I have also found with linksys that sometimes they do not totally reset by pressing and releasing the reset button. Sometimes you have to hold the button down for an extended period of time and may even have to power cycle the router if it is unresponsive. But that's definitely the linksys login info. Good luck.

Use password admin, no username. As in the router user guide (which can be obtained online) Try to set your cookies to be accepted be going to Tools Privacy and then setting the default level.
To reset your particular router:
Reset the Router by holding down the reset button until the Power LED fully turns on and off. Reset your cable or
DSL modem by powering the unit off and then on. Obtain and flash the latest firmware release that is readily
available on the Linksys website, www.linksys.com.

LMAO to all the peeps that dont get it: when you type a password in, you would normally see asterisks ( which are: ******* ) on the screen to hide the password from anyone nearby.. so basically when the kid came into the room she saw ***** she thougth the asterisks were literally her daddy's password. hopefully my explanation didnt ruin the joke..
