Question

want to talk about the CONTROVERSY OF REGGAETON. like for example "reggaeton has caused some controversy, albeit much less, due to a few of the songs explicit lyrics and alleged exploitation of women" like in their videos, dancing (PERREO), effects on culture(gang, fashion, morals, women, drugs, SEX)
please help me i really need your help =)

A LOT of reggaeton music is perceived as vulgar, sexually explicit and down right inappropriate for any listening audience. But, there is LOTS of music out there is just as raunchy and explicit. I don't think it's just a reggaeton thing. I don't like it, but to say it's only a reggaeton thing....well, that's not right. The music is degrading to women. I speak Spanish and find the lyrics disgusting. But, I just change the station. Everyone can listen to whatever they want. However, radio stations shouldn't be playing some song about shaking your privates when kids are likely to be listening.

I think that the reggaeton is just a music "fashion" that will dissapear sooner.

Yes, the lyrics are very explicit, but regarding the effects on culture I think that the reggaeton and/or any kind of music won´t be that "powerful" if the radio stations wouldn´t play it, and of course some people buy the records.

I am from Mexico and I am more worry about the "narco-corridos", which are songs that talking about the drug dealers, that is scarry !!, and has become a huge "cultural" influence that really sucks.

if you ask me the conservative hate everything new. jazz first, rock, metal, rap. now reggeaton. all music has some of the stuff you mentioned, in reggeaton they just actually say it.
