ok my neighbor scott has over 900 dvd's, i borrow some on a weekly basis, but what is a really good movie i should see if he has?

Face it, the reason why they have 900 movies is because everybody has their own tastes. Before I reccomend something, I need to know what kind of movie mood you are in.
Want a good mystery? Try "Dead Again" with Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson, Andy Garcia and Robin Williams. Want a good mob movie? Try "Goodfellas" or "Casino". Want a good love story? Try "The Notebook" or "For Love Of The Game". Want a good family movie? Try "Race The Sun" if you have teens, or "Matilda" if you don't. A good sports movie is what you need? "Miracle", "Remember The Titans", "Cinderella Man" or "Seabuiscut" will do the trick. Want a wonderful documentary? "Standing In The Shadows Of Motown" is a must. Comedy, Action and Horror films are tougher to pin down without more information from you.
