I mean this as before the coalition entered Iraq. Links would be great!

They thought it was inadvisable, and were trying to participate with the overall diplomatic efforts to contain Saddam Hussein, and calm down the region.

The Russians rightly see the unprovoked attack on Iraq by the US, and the 'coalition of the willing', as a veiled attack against Russia.

They were against it. Like France, they had huge financial interests in Saddam's Iraq.
