Personally, I am a fan of Mozilla's Firefox. I have yet to have problems with it.

Firefox!

The browser is safe and secure, unlike Internet Explorer. Not to sure about speed though, but I never noticed any slow-downs. It seems as fast as Internet Explorer. It's free, and open-source, so it is higly customizable. You'll learn to love the tabbed browsing feature. There are hundreds of themes, plugins, and add-ons to make it truly your own. Try it out, Firefox is gaining market share. I'm pretty sure you'll like it.

I use Mozilla Firefox 2.0 over everything else. It comes with a built-in spell checker... And many other nifty things.
