There is no free site to do a background check.
You also need a valid, legal reason to perform a background check on an individual, i.e. in the pursuit of collecting a debt.
My office uses Accurint, www.accurint.com, which has a cost, but is pretty good.

There are sites that will do a complete background check for $65. Google "background checks" and you will find them. For that price you will get every misdemeanor and felony committed in every county in every state in the U.S. Some even show the arrest record.

I used that website http://www.echeck.pcti-system.com .. the one referenced by that detective guy. I found exactly what I was looking for. So much for Mr Right, or rather Mr Convicted Felon with 2 Liens against him totaling over 30,000$ and an ex-wife I never knew about!! Thank God I found out the truth before it was too late. We were almost engaged!!
