give her a match box car ... silly stuff, then show her how much the thing would really cost her to include: payments on the vehicle, insurance for a child under 25 years old (and that the ins. is only good for 6 months at a time, with no tickets), tags, inspection, tires, upkeep (every 3000 miles just the oil change), fuel and (whatever else you can come up with) with a job of her own, she could get one ... then, wrap it up in a big box .. to a small box ..

Clothes, gift cards, take her to get her hair done, get a spa certificate, cell phone accessories, ring tones, cd's, make-up and skin care items, stationary, shoes, put an album or scrap book of her through the years and make it special from you, build her a hope chest with items she will need when she moves out like pots pans and cups ect, colored contacts, and if she likes to read find what topic get her some books!
Good Luck!
P.S.
Just for the record ask her what kind of car she wants and go find it in the matchbox isle and stuff it in her stocking...lol
It was done to me when I asked for that!!!! I laughed so hard!

you can give her money and encourage her to open a bank account so she can save money towards a car. Special chores around the house can be a way to earn some money. This may sound lame but i think this would be great way of learning value of money and saving.

That cool new projector thing-I saw it and wanted it for myself...LOL....she can plug her TV into it and project whatever she's watching(including video games) on the wall or ceiling...turning her room into a virtual movie theatre....I saw it on sale at Target for $199.99 in this Sunday's paper.

Get her something usefull, please. i just can't stand to see people who give gifts that are 'cool' but in a while get 'old' and arn't used anymore. Sorry, I can't think of anything, but PLEASE dont get her an IPod or something like that. It just wastes money and energy, and she's gonna throw it out sooner or later when it gets broken. I hope this helps!

I remember when I wanted a PT Cruiser for Christmas. I still have it and it sits nicely on my shelf.
