Nope. i reckon it'll be the Scouse's turn. everybody complained when utd could buy whoever they wanted. then it was chelsea. Everthing comes in cycles. after L'pool, it'll be someone else.
To andyhpt19 - history counts for nothing mate. it's a thing of the past. Chelsea's the future - you ain't.

Its inevitable that liverpool were going to find someone to take the club to where its got to be, I am a liverpool supporter and its not hard to see that the way the club is run we just cant compete at the level we once were used to.

anfield is tiny compared to the biggest clubs in europe, i find it strange that they didnt think of moving in the late 1980's when they were still the kings of old first division, and gone are the days players move to the club for their prestige.

Its either money or location for most modern day players, liverpool is close to the horrific irish sea weather and so who would want to go there, even if you were compensated with more money liverpool cant pay top wages either.

if this takeover builds the new stadium and then selling anfield gives them stability i will be happy, but i am sure 99% of the fans want someone to knock chelsea and man united off the top spot, if liverpool do that ill be delighted.

Honestly there will be good side and bad side of sort of investments. The good side is now Rafa may will have more money supply to buy good players in certain amount. The bad side is when capitalism round up your team, there always a possibility that the team taken from the fans. I heard a story of one Chelsea fan who said he can't afford the Chelsea tickets anymore. I wish that won't happen with Liverpool and the fans.

But with or without the large amount of money, Benitez is reliable on signing good players. Once he said finding players for the team it's like finding the missing piece of a leg of table. Perfect quality in suitable price. So far he can impress me about his choices. I think it would be better if the investment are for the youth academy improvement so Liverpool Academy keep producing great talents like Stevie G.

It was inevitable that Liverpool would be bought at some point. They have so much history and tradition which makes them marketable. Even with all their money Chelsea have yet to win the champions league. Man Utd have done it twice. Liverpool are five time winners. The statistics speak for themselves. It will be a long time before another English club can equal Liverpool's achievements. Not in Fergies or Murinhos lifetime.

I think one would have to look at the way the takeover is structured. It's not a complete controlling issue. The reason that Liverpool would accept the takeover is because it will still be a run as a business. Not a hobby as in one case.

Liverpool remain one of the few clubs not to be bankrolled by debt. Just think of Glazier folding due to money concerns. No more man u. Same for chelski.

hahaha .. we shouldnt be scared of money in football... look @ real madrid. and chelsea. cant keep every1 happy in the squad. i would hav thought that these players lik swp would hav had a bit of an idea that he was goin 2 be on the bench when the likes of essien, robben and duff(he was there when swp signed).
really serves them right cost him is england shirt. parker learnt it the hard way.

yes yes i know i go 4 manutd. so mayb my opion is bias a bit. (i try not 2 be)

i really hope manutd win this year cos it will prove money isnt football.

anyway im not that fearful of liverpool even if that guy takes over. it would be a couple of season even if they were 2 become a force.
i m acutally more fearful about arsenal. have u seen some of their youngsters.. i really do hav 2 give it 2 wenger. the likes of fabregas, van persie and senderos are only goin 2 get better.

I used to work for this man, his correct title following the death of his brother, HRH Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is HRH Shiekh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. His racing empire, Godolphin is world renowned, the family have huge estates throughout this country, and his Brother Sheikh Rashid owns Emirates Airlines, who now sponsor both Chelsea and Arsenal, I think we need to be a little bit cautious about the amount of power other nationals have within our country and now our game. To much power, to much money, really is not a good thing. I saw 11-13 year olds lined up for this family daily, their rules and beliefs are not our laws, and just because they are foreign nationals, appears to give power and rules no one else in this land can afford.

Lets hope so, it will be nice to see Chelsea having a real rival in the transfer window instead of just buying players to stop other teams buying them e.g shaun wright philips. Plus with Liverpools richer history bigger players will be more willing to move to such a historical club with proven european success.

I think this is bad again for the game. A cap should be placed on businessmen who are ready to invest in top clubs. The gap between the top flight and lower league clubs is getting bigger and this will destroy the future of English football domestically and nationally.

I doubt any new middle-eastern owner will lavish funds Chelski style on players.

Theres too much poverty in middle-east, and unlike Russians, muslims seriously don't like one of their own playboy-ing it up. (Unless the buyer moves to England)

There may be acquisitions to put the club up to compete, but I still think it will be run as a sensible business proposition.
