have her buy a body pillow those realllllly long ones and put it in between her legs when she sleeps on her side at night. It'll be ok for her to be on her back for a little while but not to much it can make it harder for the baby to breathe. You shouldn't sleep on your back or tummy but the backs better then the tummy.

OBs tell women not to sleep on their backs because the uterus can put pressure on the vena cava, which, among other things, circulates blood and oxygen to the baby.
But here's the deal: some women are able to lie on their backs all throughout their pregnancies, and some find it uncomfortable right away.
If it's a problem, your wife will feel odd (light headed, maybe like she might vomit, racing heart, etc.) long before there's any damage done to the little one.
So as long as she's comfortable, go for it.

if she is comfortable lying on her back during sex then it should be safe. the only time sex is not safe is when its causing pain or she starts bleeding or the Dr says otherwise.
i always found it hard to sleep on my side but once i put a pillow between my legs i made it much easier to sleep. if she sleeps on her left side it will take pressure of her bladder so she wont have to keep waking to go to the loo.
once she gets further along in her pregnancy she may find it harder to sleep on her back and if you still want to have sex my partner and i found it more enjoyable on our sides if that helps..
good luck and congratulations on your baby

As long as you are not putting too much pressure on her abdomen then it's fine. She can sleep on her back for awhile but will need to sleep on her side as she becomes larger...sometimes lying on the back as the baby gets larger can cause a lack of oxygen...it's rare because the woman usually gets uncomfortable and moves before it happens...but lying on her back for a little while will be fine for her and the baby.

Ask the Doc first.
Why is she getting pain when she lays on her side.
Tell her to talk about that with her Doc.
And things she can do so that she can sleep on her side because at 7,8 & 9 months she is not going to beable to sleep on her back.
As long as the Doc said it was ok to have intercourse then its ok for you to be on top. Just try to not put all of your weight on her tummy. Tuck her tummy to the side. if that make sense. That's what I did when I was Pregnant.

Intimacy is fine in the position most comfortable for you both. As it progresses you may find spooning or "doggy style" more comfortable and pleasurable. If she is uncomfortable on her side try a pillow between her knees (folded if need be) it reduces strain on the hips which may be the pain she is feeling.

It is safe for you guys to have sex however, and whenever you want, as long as she's comfortable. I was able to sleep on my back the week my son was born, but my sister couldn't breathe on her back at 5 months! And this is a great time for you to experiment to see how she is comfortable, and so your 'normal' position isn't the boring missionary. :-)

sure-sex is great when your preggers and good to keep all the muscles you will need to deliver in a few months inshape BUT as she grows or now if she's huge you might have to be creative for comfy posistions....its no fun to try and have a good time with back pain. she can sleep any way she wants as long as she's comfortable-the only time she can't have sex is if she is put on "bedrest" by her ob but thats rare....

Yep yep, you sure can have sex, just as long as she doesn't have placenta previa or anything medically complicated going on. Sex does not hurt the baby.
