Poll Man you are wrong...
In 2003, USC shared a national championship with LSU. USC was awarded a national championship by the AP (associated press). LSU was given the BCS national championship awarded by the coach's poll. In '03, the AP and the coach's poll were the two "human polls" associated with the BCS. The AP was no longer associated with the BCS in 2005. The AP awared The University of Texas its national championship. UT also won the BCS national championship. The AP voters can vote for whomever they deem national champions.

The BCS is the one and only official national title. Therefore, the winner of this game is the ONLY champion. Since Michigan is not in this game, they therefore, cannot have any piece of the title.
By the way, USC did not have a piece of the national title during the 2003 season - where they played the bowl game in early 2004. LSU was the BCS champion that season and therefore the one and ONLY champion. USC fans, on the otherhand, like to think they "share" a piece of that year's title because the AP ranked them as #1, but again, the main purpose of the BCS system is to crown ONE champion. The AP is NOT the official champion - the BCS is the official national champion. Whether love or loathe the BCS, it selects just ONE national champion.

Even though we (UofM) will not be playing in the BCS Championship bowl - it was by I believe 5/10 of a point that Florida beat us in the rankings we are still going to the rose bowl (to kick some USC butt!!) and think about it - what is the #1 game that EVERYONE watches on Jan 1 - The ROSE BOWL - so we are still getting our "props" and yes in the stats page Florida and UofM are REALLY close - I don't think a rematch would have been that great anyway - I don't like to say that but it's a little more exciting playing USC than playing sorry Ohio AGAIN! Don't worry NEXT year they are OURS and they will feel the PAIN!!

because in this case the number 1 and 2 teams in all the polls are playing, in those cases, that was not true. and anyways, the BCS only recognizes lsu as the 2003-2004 national champion. in this case, if florida beats ohio state, they will have done what michigan couldn't, and will be the champs, and if osu wins, they are going to be the undefeated number 1 ranked team and therefore national champs

Not very likely because all the poll voters hate Michigan cuz their all ******* obsessesd with Florida. When Florida gets their *** kicked they are gonna be wishing they had Michigan in the national championship cuz that would have actually been a game.

If Ohio state wins they really can't claim that they deserve a share considering Ohio would be undefeated and Michigan would have a loss to Ohio however if Florida where to pull of the miracle of the century then i think they have a legitimate argument.

Dustin T, You! are wrong
Only one champion per year; USC chose to be part of the BCS, so the AP poll alone is irrelevant to being champion. Therefore, USC only has one championship since the BCS started.
Last three years:
LSU
USC
UT

why are we even asking this? Mich had their chance and they blew it. I know i had said i wanted a rematch, but the more i thought about it, i thought, geez instead of a NC game..it would feel more like just another big ten match up. i do like seeing conferences playing other conferences in title game. I am by far not a OSU fan, but i am going to have to root for the Big ten in all bowl games. kick some **** OSU. do us proud.

Hey get over it.....In 2004 - we (Auburn) went 13-0 and didn't get to play for it and didn't get to share the title....we were screwed and so now it is Michigan's turn...playoff system...it is the only way now.
