i want to hang a decoration from it and i was just wondering.

Yes, you can be cited for it. It's an infraction violation of California Vehicle Code section 21700, "Driver's View Obstructed"

You have to remember whatever is hanging near your face in a car could become hanging from your face in an accident.
I guess it is legal because everybody does it. I don't. Yet now you mention it everyone else I know does.

Might be a good idea to pay attention to your driving. It is the number one killer of young people.

Technically speaking, particular. An air freshener however, or a garter or a pair of fuzzy cube, shouldn't get you pulled over. A dang super handful of rubbish however - as I do from time to time see - might. Richard

It could be constrewed as an obstruction of view, if a police officer wanted to be a cheese whiz about stuff.

yes it is counted. obstruction of view in that state as well most every state as well which carries a fine in your state. my opion?
