Why is it that every college football expert including ex-Buckey Kirk Herbstreet, and lee Corso agree that Michigan is the real # 2 team in the country.

Why did Ohio State agree that Michigan is the real #2? Florida losses by double digits to a team thats not even in the top ten!!! They fluke a win past hopeless Florida State, and have a few close calls against lesser teams.

Michigan played a #1 ranked team, a # 2 ranked team, they crushed the #7 ranked team. Plus had 3 rivalry games, and lost to the #1 team only by three points and that was away (they didn't lose to a team not in the top ten).

Even ex-buckey Kirk Herbstreet said "if Michigan doesn't get called for roughing the passer late in the fourth quarter, Michigan wins.

Everybody after that game agreed that those were the two best teams in the country. And if Michigan had their chance then so did Florida. All's they had to do was beat a team thats not in the top ten and argument over. But they lost by double digits.

You're splitting hairs between Florida and Michigan. For every reason there is to pick Florida, there's another to pick Michigan.

I don't buy the "Michigan already had their chance" argument. They had their chance alright -- at Ohio Stadium, and they only lost by 3 (although to be fair the game wasn't that close). I don't think Florida had a tougher schedule. Between the two Florida's loss was worse -- but c'mon, losing to Auburn at Auburn is not like getting blown out by a creampuff. Michigan benefitted from some early wins and frankly I think the significance of those wins was exaggerated. I never was a big believer in the Maize and Blue, not this year. But Florida wasn't exactly a house-a-fire either. Even so, at the end of the year the two teams on paper are probably equal.

Bottom line: we know what OSU did to Michigan. That can't be argued. What they'll do to Florida we'll find out in a month. If OSU beats'em both, saying that they are national champs won't seem like enough.

BTW, a REAL league (which the NCAA and the BCS are definitely not) would schedule a Florida-Michigan game to settle things once and for all, and the winner would THEN have to play OSU. Apparently in the old, old days games could be scheduled during the season; too bad that's not the case today.

This is exactly what College football wants...controversy. That way everyone will be talking about it instead of the NFL. And guess what, it's working. It's all over talk radio and ESPN. I hate the BCS. I really wish for a playoff, but as long as everyone is talking it up, it's not going to happen.

I'm glad Florida is going instead of Michigan. They are both very good teams. If you like playoffs then think of it this way, Michigan was in Ohio State's bracket and got knocked out.

And to everyone talking about Florida getting beat by 'double digits' to a team 'not even in the top 10', that's a crazy argument. OK, Auburn is #10 in every poll right now and #9 in the BCS, they are pretty good. And they scored on a fumble recovery on the last play of the game as Florida was lateralling the ball trying to make a miracle play. So instead of a 3 point loss it was a 10 point loss, big deal.

I hate the mentality "they had their shot" or "didn't win the conference".

Michigan was #2 for 8 weeks and lost to #1. Common sense dictates that they are still #2. I despise Michigan, but they got screwed twice by the voters.

Auburn went undefeated and got screwed a couple of years a go.

Let the love of the game dictate the champion - not nerdy computer programs and biased voting.

Apply the BCS mentality to any other sport with a playoff and it is so incredibly stupid, I laugh.

The Cardinals won the season series against the Mets, so they should not meet in the NLCS. As a result, the Padres were awarded the right to go against St. Louis.

Even thought the Bears won more games than the Cowboys, Dallas earned a trip to the Super Bowl because of the weaker NFC North opponents and schedule of Chicago.

Every sport (even football in Div 1-AA to Division 3) has a playoff. The BCS is a scam by the NCAA for all of the money from the flawed Bowl System. They call the BCS "fair" but it all about MONEY and GREED.

There should be a PLAYOFF!

Alright, let's explain this one more time for the pea-brains out there.

Florida beat 9 teams who were at or above .500. How many did Michigan beat? 6. Only 4 teams that Michigan beat had winning records, and one of those was Central Michigan.

Florida beat 3 teams currently in the top 25 (LSU, Arkansas, Tennessee). Michigan beat 2 (Notre Dame and Wisconsin).

And I guess you missed Michigan looking very unimpressive against teams like Northwestern and Minnesota, or barely squeaking by a VERY BAD Ball State team. Also hate to break it to you, but OSU doesn't fumble away two QB-Center exchanges or get a really bad call on interference on 4th down on Michigan's last drive, Michigan loses to Ohio State by about 20.

Guess you morons won't get by the fact that Florida deserves to be there more than Michigan. Too bad. Guess USC will just have to prove to the country how bad Michigan is on January 1.

But why let me say it- here's what one of the Harris Poll voters said:

Tom Luicci, a Harris voter who bumped Florida up to second, said he made his assessment based on Florida's body of work -- not one game.

"Michigan has quality wins over Wisconsin, which played no one, and Notre Dame, which won the Commander's-in-Chief trophy (a reference to wins over the service academies) which I don't consider a major coup."

As for Florida, Luicci noted its weak nonconference schedule "but that doesn't matter when you play every good team in the SEC and have quality road wins, too."

I see your point but Florida is worthy of playing in the National Championship. They won the SEC which is the best conference in college football. It's hard to beat a team twice in the same season in football, so there is a good chance that Michigan would beat Ohio State, if they played again. There is no suspense in that. Florida vs. Ohio State should be a good game. I'm calling for Ohio State to win by 10 points.

The only reason Florida got in is because the voters were voting against a rematch! Not for the best two teams! (all those voters know damn well that we are a top 2 team in the land!)

I'm sure everyone remembers what was being said before the USC lost. Everyone thought that it was USC the Michigan and that Florida was too far away too make up ground! But the only were saying that because they thought USC would cruise and there would be no contoversy. But when USC went down then all of the sudden everybody jumps on Florida just because they are the only team remaining that can prevent a rematch!

If USC had won then there is no way Florida leapfrogs Michigan! That right there signifies that the voters didn't want a rematch which is exactly why sportswriters and coaches should not decide where my team plays!

By the way I hope Florida gets crushed so all the nation can see that we should've been there!

Agree 100%!!! Florida does NOT stand a chance playing with the big boys. I thought it was a joke when I heard Florida jumped to #2. ARE YOU FRICKING KIDDING ME!!!! Michigan would be a way better match up and better prepared. To all those who said they didn't want to see a rematch GO BLOW YOURSELVES. How many times in the NFL do you see rematches in the playoffs? ALOT and that is the way it should be. Piss on Florida and in NO way did they have a tougher schedule than Michigan. Again Michigan's only loss came at Ohio by 3 points. Michigan got Raped. Look at the bowl selections. How GAY are the selections if Notre Dame still gets in a big bowl game with two losses to two ranked teams. I think honestly now the best bowl game will be the Rose Bowl by far with USC and Michigan both pissed off and wanting to just take kick some A S S !! Again I agree 100 % we got robbed.

What's done is done. Michigan deserved that tittle game as much as Florida. This proves the system doesn't work. We need playoff brackets!
