This happened to a friend of mine. She did end up miscarrying, but I would not have a d&c because there is always a chance that the dates could be wrong. Go get a second opinion if you can and see what the other doctor tells you. I hope everything works out sweetie. I have had 4 miscarriages and I know how hard it is.

Upon reading some of the other replies....I have to agree with everyone else. However, I feel your OB should order an ultrasound to have a definite confirmation that their is no heartbeat as sometimes heartbeats are hard to pick up with the handheld machine. Not that I'm trying to give you false hope...just that, as someone who works in the medical field, I feel any diagnostic testing that will give a better answer should be done, if not just to help the patient understand what is going on.

Many hugs and prayers for you sweetie...and stand your ground with your doctor, sometimes they can be hard-headed.

I think the dr. is right. If you dont hear a heartbeat---you can assume the worst.
There was a woman in my family with the same thing and she kept her baby inside her for a long time and people started asking her why her belly wasnt 'growing' and she went to the dr. and her baby was dead. she was just afraid to see what was wrong. and that can be very toxic to your body if you dont believe the dr.
I hope everything works out with you. God Bless

Sometimes the baby is just so small that is is just hard to find the heartbeat. It is possible that you could just be measuring smaller, just wait and see what happens. Just dont let them do a d & c ( that is where the scrape out everything ) cos everything might be fine. Good luck hun

Sorry but this looks like bad news. Had my doctor spouse read your question. My spouse didn't want to answer this question, saying it's bad news. It looks like baby is 9 weeks old, 6.3 week size; looks like baby isn't growing. I am very sorry.

I am sorry but these things can't be predicted very well. BUT ALL WAYS HOPE. You may/may or maynot miscarry. Only god knows.
You may want to get several doctors opinions on the subject.
I wish you the best of luck and god bless!

9 weeks...that's 2 months and 1 week pregnant...Sorry, sweethesrt, if they can't hear a heartbeat at this point, I doubt your doctor isn't right on point about a miscarriage. (you can usually hear the heartbeat at 2 weeks)

Hold on i'll just go to the future and see how your baby does... or you could visit a doctor and get a professional second opinion. Your choice.
