He is getting older and isn't the player he once was. He missed an entire season so he isn't prepared to make a comeback.A team would have to be very deperate to take him.

Sosa should stay out of baseball. It reminds me of all the times Michael Jordan kept trying to make a comeback with NBA, the more times he tried to come back the worse he was.
Back to sosa...final time with the orioles was horrendous. His average declined by almost 100 points from 2001.

I agree with Ron on this. If the man still has something to bring to the table, then bring it on:-)
Julio Franco (48 years) still plays the game because he can, because he loves it. It's not about money with him. His enthusiasm for the game is contagious.
Maybe Smiling Sammy will make the transition and step down from any unreasonable salary demands just to play the sport. Baseball could always use a few more players that play for the game and not for the dollars that it brings in.

I miss Sosa, myself. I searched the Baltimore Orioles website top to bottom, only to find that Sammy had a foot injury last fall, in '05, with nothing more said.
I would like to see him again with a struggling team, needing a potentially hot bat in the lineup, like Texas again, or maybe the Rockies... trouble is, he's expecting lots of money, but no team anywhere will pay him what he thinks he oughtta command.
I don't expect him to come back, but pleased if he would.

Sammy needs to stay out and enjoy life. Sammy and Big MC did bring baseball back to life with the homerun showdown in 98, but he is washed up. He did do a interview on ESPN saying he wanted to come back.

He needs to stay out. He did do an ESPN interview stating that he was interested in coming back. I don't know if any team would want him though.

I think he should join the acting business. His huge head could get him a role as a monster in a new horror movie. (LOL)
