Yes, ebay is a great site to buy stuff.
Having both bought stuff and sold stuff on ebay, I believe that ebay is more of a "buyers dream" than a "sellers paradise" because as a buyer its easier to find a good deal than it is to make a good profit as a seller.
However, there are lots of things you have to do to make sure its a fun and safe experience.
-Learn what you're buying. If you're into baseball cards, learn how to spot fakes and learn to determine value in what you buy.
-Watch out for sellers with negative feedback and whose auction descriptions seem shady. Also, some sellers may charge too much for shipping.
Good luck!

Depends on what you are buying. If you are looking for a "Captain Planet Ring" it may be your best and one of very few choices. However if you are buying a diamond engagement ring you may want to rethink that - not that it could be a fake but what is the return policy and is it certified - that kind of thing. EBay is a good site and has alot to offer but as with any auction you get what you bought and be thoughtful of that. You are obliged to pay if you win and if you change your mind many sellers have a no return policy. Be careful to not be impulsive - read all the sellers rules (some have many) and you will be fine. Happy shopping!

Amazon is better than EBay. A person will more than likely be ripped off on EBay than buying from Amazon.
You see what everyone is writing....., you have to do your homework... "some work involved. Why do you have to work when you shop around??"
I had a bad experience on Ebay , and I would never go to ANY "auction site" ever again. I compare prices on bizrate and shopzilla and make my choices from there.
Amazon has excellent returns policy, there is abosolutely NO bidding. and you get your items in a few days. I don't care what anyone says...

eBay is good for some things BUT always search via google to be sure that you are getting the right item at the right price. In some cases I have seen used items on eBay being sold for same price as new items elsewhere! Especially technology (TVs, Laptops, etc) because it goes down in price so fast!
Best deal I got was a 12V USB MP3 transmitter for £3

I love eBay. I have purchased a couple of items from eBay. The trick is to check out the ratings of the Seller's before you buy anything from them. Each seller is rated by each buyer after each sale they make. You can actually review the comments of previous buyers.

It's the best it just sucks when there's other people bidding on something you want then it gets out of your price range other than that it's safe just look at the feedback and rating of the seller.

Yes. Ebay is fine. Buy from people with high ratings and you'll be fine.
