Me I am a true Pink Floyd fan. To me when this song comes into mind it shows the feelings of Syd Barret when he left. It says that they Wished he was still here.

To me though it makes a good song to play at a funeral or when you break up with someone.

That's a strange question and deserves a strange answer. Wish You Were Here reminds me of the death of a loved one or a person who misses another desperately. It's sad no matter how you look at it.

You might want to specify which one you're talking about. Pink Floyd and Incubis both have songs by that name with completly opposite moods.
