Also, how about MSNBC? Do they lie somewhere in the middle?

For a long time, the media has been dominated my liberal-minded journalists, so their stories reflected their idiology (some purposefully annd others because true objectivity is impossible). So the major networks and CNN tend to be more positive toward other liberal-minded people. Fox News and much of talk radio has developed as a response to this, and as a result much of these two venues are more conservative-minded.

I think that is partially true. I don't think that either side actively seeks to back a particular party, but I do think that CNN tends to be a bit more liberal, and Fox a bit more conservative.

I tend to agree with your assessment. However, Fox is not even subtle with their commentaries that frequently push the Republican/conservative agenda. I watch it with reservation, sometimes just for entertainment. How can they be "fair and balanced" when a kind word is rarely given to the dems (or libs).
Consider the regular guest news analysts that appear: Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Billy Kristol, Pat Buchanan (center, right?) ....give me a break!

CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS all seem to have Liberal slant.
FOX tries to actually be fair & balanced & present both views.
But since Libertals don't like any other opinion, they claim it is biased.
