The president's term is for 4 years. He may be re-elected for another term of 4 years. The maximum time he could be the president is just under 10 years. If a Vice President became President for any reason, he would finish out that term. If that time was less than 2 years, he would finish out that time, and then could be elected for 2 terms of his own.

A single presidential term is 4 years, and a president can normally serve two terms consecutively, for 8 years of service. The one exception is if someone succedes a president who resigns or dies. Depending on the length of their first term, they could possibly serve up to two full terms and one partial term. Have to be pretty popular though. ;)

The president of the USA I guess you are asking. You do realize these boards are seen by many outside the US? Anyway, if asking about USA his term is a period of four years and after that is finished he can run again and if he wins he will run for another four years for a total of a possible 8 years in total. He cannot be in office for more than eight years. So, Bush is in his last term, he cannot run again.

If he is elected it is for 4 Years & can serve two terms.

If as vice president taking over for the president he wold finish out the term. (Nixon - Ford)
