My cousin videotaped her first period, and shes been showing it to all of our family members. And everyone is sooooo proud of her! I told her she was very gross. What do you guys think?

*shakes head* everyone elses comments sum it up very well. i feel like vomiting knowing the fact that someone would videotape it and show it to family like its a trophy. who in their RIGHT mind do that? i dont find periods sick, but the fact that someone would show it off to their family is just incredibly creepy that makes me wonder what else goes on in the family. i wont doubt it if someday there will be incest/pedo porn on the net. enough said.

I don't see the big fuss, it isn't the norm, certainly, but let her do what she wants to do. Thats like asking if its normal to put up A papers on the fridge. Shes proud of the fact that shes growing up, and if you don't want to see it, then politely decline, telling her she is gross is just plain mean.

That girl needs to get a life. who in the world does that. that`s gross. I think periods are a private thing. She`s showing it off like she got diploma or something.

yeah it's gross, but everyone is proud of her cause having your first period can be a scarry experience, so they are all being supportive of her so she doesn't feel odd about her period. but filming you period, i think, is right up there with filming someone taking a dump, or filming sex, or anything like that.
