It's a card game similar to rummi with seven hands dealt with increasing numbers of cards. You can also try to take any players discard by yelling "me!" if you want the card. Just wondering if anyone else has heard of it or played it. Seems like my family are the only ones.

Sounds variation of the traditional game "Oh Hell!"

In the game the cards are dealt out to the players, and then one card is turned up to denote the "trump" suit. The object is for each player to bid the number of tricks he thinks he can take from each hand, then to take exactly that many; no more and no fewer. Points are awarded only for making the bid exactly, and are deducted for missing the bid, either over or under.

The hook is that at least one player will fail on each hand, because the total number of tricks bid by the players may not equal the number of tricks available on that hand.

General rules for Oh Hell, and information, including some stuff that sound like your variation:

Incidentally, the version of Oh Hell that I like the best is called RAGE (originally made by the makers of UNO). In that one, it's still roughly the same game, except that it throws a few bits into the mix.

1) there are six suits, instead of four.
2) The cards range from 0 to 15 (instead of 1-13 or 2-14 in a standard deck)
3) There are special cards mixed in that change the trump, kill the trump suit for a hand, or give the trick taker bonus or negative points.

Basically, there's a lot of stuff in the box, and you can remove and play with whatever cards you like.
