Those are good signings. There is a small detail of playing the games before anybody can call themselves champions. I'm not so sure Clemons will be back and I'm not a huge Pettitte fan. He hasn't been real good since he came to Houston. He's too inconsistent. Oswalt is the best pitcher they have. They need to develop their young talent and make some mid-range signings to improve. By the way, I'm a Houston native. I'd love them to win something.

Actually, the Cardinals are. But you knew that, didn't you. What Houston needs to do is sign a manager that gets them to start playing at some point before the all-star break. You are awfully optimistic if you think the rocket is coming back. Pettite, too for that matter but who cares- Pettite has been very average. All 300 pounds of Carlos Lee patroling left field is kinda scary too. I imagine he will really let himself go after he settles into that nice coushy long term contract. His bat is a huge presence but is it enough? Houston finished, what, dead last in runs scored? You should be happy you get to see Biggio's 3000th hit next year and just be satisfied with that.

Mike---didnt the Cardinals get swept by the BoSox a few years ago...or am I wrong...and to the Astro's--they know what they have to do and they are in the process of working on it...adding a big bat to help produce runs, adding a good arm to the mid-back of the rotation. Zito is the only decent pitcher on the market and after Boras screwed Houston out of Beltran, which would explain every boo he will ever get when he comes to Houston, we don't want to deal with Boras for a better than mediocure pitcher...but no Roy O.

Heard if Clemens retires it is hard to see Andy going back to the Astros. The Astros will still have to beat the Cardinals since they are the defending World Series Champions.

NO WAY.

Reasons:
1. The season has not started yet!!
2. So what thay signed players? Woody sucks and after taking out Berkman to put in lee, there is no requeriment

First they need to win the Central at least once, The Cards have won it three times in a row.

And when you go to the world series, you dont get swept by a team that didnt even make the playoffs this year. Sorry buddy, Astros suck.

They can't, not really.

Contrary to your believe, The Astro's actually have to play 162 game schedule just like The Cards & The Cubs.

You cannot automatically be handed a WS ring on a silver platter.
Just ask yankee fans. You have to EARN it.
