- For a person who does not like to party and does not want to join any social groups? I seemed to have missed the memo on this.

I guess college is fun so you can find out who you are if you havent previously.
If you dont want to join social groups then study, get good grades and go out with the people that you choose

Learning and getting a degree to get a better paying job. I understand where you are coming from, not wanting to join any social groups or partying I was like that at one point. I stayed away from those things and concentrated on my education. That doesn't mean I don't like going to the movies, chatting on the phone with friends, bike riding, and doing things I love to do and was happy with it. So try to find something that makes you happy and make it into a hobby for you and don't be persuaded by anyone to join any social group or party.

The academic experience in college is so much more rewarding that one would expect. In high school, one is usually used to simply listening to the teacher, but in college, the classroom is an open forum where you can learn from your classmates and professors. You actually can't avoid joining a social group because the classroom is a social experience all on its own and its definately not something you can or should avoid.

Everything that happens before getting a job, getting married, having kids, bills, mortgages... IS FUN. Go out more. You don't have to join popular groups or wild parties, go to the ones you like-there must be something and someone out there you like. Be happy ...be funny... don't be one of those people who say: I don't like parties...

How about its independence? How about the fact that you are working towards a degree that will make all the difference in you life?

I understand not partying and not everyone joins social groups...but you have to be social? If you have a hard time being social, maybe consider joining a social group. Colleges have SO SO SO SO many different types of groups.

Fun doesnt just come to you, you have to make it happen!!

I loved my undergraduate classes. They were so interesting and I loved most of the professors.
I like to party and like the social clubs too, but class to me was fun...maybe I'm a little strange!

Finding out who you really are by getting away from home and family and people you've known all your life - being exposed to new ideas and cultures and traditions.

Taking whatever classes you want, learning whatever you want to learn. You just need to find people that are in the same interests as you.

Taking 3-4 day weekends all the time so I can go skiing/snowboarding was fun.

hanging out with friends, staying up as late as you want and not have to worry about a curfew, going to walmart at 2am because there is nothing else to do, lol. ummm....that is all I can think of since you do not go out and party.
